To celebrate the 135th anniversary of the Matchgirls Strike, in July 2023, The Matchgirls Memorial partnered with the East London Music Group (ELMG) to put on the 'Striking Sparks' concert at the Great Hall of the People's Palace at Queen Mary University London (QMUL) in Mile End.

The concert featured a brand new piece of specially commissioned music, 'A Fair Field' by composer, Jonathan Pease. The performers, excellently led by ELMG's Musical Director, Matt Hardy, comprised members of the ELMG, the East London Community Band, Aldersbrook Community Choir, East London Children’s Choir, Poplar Singers, Queen Mary University of London Choir, and Victoria Park Singers.
